Akakura Onsen
Akakura Onsen is located adjacent to the village and provides a variety of runs for all levels of skiers In our opinion is the resort is most suited to beginners and intermediates. A large resort with 15 lifts, there is a great selection of runs and minimal crowds means lift lines are virtually non-existent and the pistes are yours for the taking. Night skiing is also available.
Not to be confused with Akakan, Myoko Akakura Onsen is a separate ski area (covered by a separate lift pass) comprising a number of formerly independent resort areas, including Akakura Onsen, Kumado, and Akakura Chuo as well as a couple of other small areas such as Yodel. The Akakura Onsen lift pass does not allow you to ski in Akakura Kanko so keep an eye out for the signs that clearly delineate the two areas.
